Derby Nation

My girlfriend, Lusty Crush, and I just moved from Albany, NY to Phoenix, AZ, partly for some warm weather, and partly to skate Renegade. We figured as long as we were uprooting our life in search of the perfect derby, we may as well embrace our inner rollergirl and bring forth a business that can bring a little bit of roller derby attitude into everyone's lives. So, Lust & Gore Hardwear was born. We customize cowboy hats and cloth caps (military caps), and make original jewelry designs (including skate bearing jewelry) out of industrial strength hardware, spikes, and studs. Now we are about a week out from our website going live and are wondering if any other rollergirl entrepreneurs have any marketing secrets they would be willing to share with us. We have a Myspace page, a Facebook page, a Tumblr page, a Twitter account, a Blog on Myspace and Blogger, press release packages, and a Flickr photostream. We will be looking to do a link exchange with other derby sites, alternative clothing sites, tattoo sites, and motorcycle sites. We will be flyering similar local businesses, sponsoring roller derby leagues, and street teaming rollergirls and musicians. That's our strategy up to this point. Anyone out there willing to share some ideas?

hey since you make everything, you may want to put some stuff up on etsy.com. It's a great site for selling handmade crafts. I've seen a few derby things on there too. Also try promoting on livejournal.com in the various craft and derby communities.
