I had read in a post somewhere about cleaning your wheels during a bout. I can't find that post now. Just wondering how to do it. Our floor really gets trashy quickly and our wheels tent to get large patches of schmutz on them.

I usually just use a rag soaked with rubbing alcohol. It gets any of the sticky stuff off really quick. This is fine for a quick clean up in "emergency" type situations, but it's not the best idea to do too often since the alcohol can react the the wheel materials and shorten their life-span.
I've been told that the best approach is taking your wheels off your skates, popping the bearings out, and washing them in your sink with dishwashing soap. Just make sure you rinse them well so you don't have any soapy residue afterwards.

Our girls clean their wheels with vinegar and a rag. I second the removing of bearings and soaking them. Check out sincityskates blog on cleaning wheels and stuff.
