So, has anyone begun the certification process? As of January it has become open (to apply) for all refs whether your league is currently WFTDA or not.
I know two WFTDA certified refs and one of them mentioned helping me get certified. She has been very busy, but I am guest reffing at a bout with her coming up so I will find out more from her then and report back here.
I'm working on my certification and have learned quite a bit about the process, if you have any questions post up and I will answer to the best of my ability.
I learned a few things at The Big One as well so I can answer a few questions. The biggest reccomendation I have is get as much experience as possible.
I hear the written is alot of senarios. And, then you do the skills test. I know the old process but not sure on the new evaluation. It also depends on the level of cert you want level 1 - level 5. There is alot on WFTDA website about it. I took online test but those were easy not sure how the actual cert is we had a ref take the written and pass. (he is not allowed to talk to anyone about the test so I don't know what is on the test for sure). Then fail the skills test. But, good note on that is you can take the skills test when ever and the written is every 30 days. So good luck to all. Does anyone know if you still have to apply for the test or can you just take it?
I heard that you need to contact a certified ref/team and they can test you acording to their schedule, but I am not 100% sure on this. I have heard from one WFTDA ref that out of everyone they knew who took the test, not one of them said it was easy.
