Its an end of an era. Coal City has been a lot of things to many different people. To the girls who were Coal City it was a family and outlet. Like most families it had it's dysfunction and congruency, it's ups and downs, and it taught us how and how not to do things. Most of all Coal City brought the spirit of roller derby to us. It was our family!
Many of us are moving on and carrying that spirit with us. We are also taking the friends we made and skills we have learned to better ourselves in life and our new teams.
Coal City has officially terminated 09/10/09.
Personally it felt like a brake up. There is heartbreak for the good times and lingering memories. However it was necessary and we were growing apart fro many reasons.
The positive is that the girls and I are still friends and there are many new prospects on the horizon for all of us.
I am taking my ability to a new family LVRG. I hope to grow and gain more family members and skills.
