Missin the freedom and my girls....

I fell in love with derby quite awhile ago... i have not been able to feed my obsession with the freedom it brought me for a few (way too long) months now due to a non-derby related injury...I cant even begin to describe how devasted i was when i heard the doctor say, I'm sorry but this injury is very serious, and you are not going to be able to do several things, especially participate in roller derby for an unknown amount of time. I may be tough, but i dont like to lose... one or two bouts maybe, but an indefinite leave of absence? I dont know how I'm getting through the days...the pain is nothing compared to the reality of loss. My team is like a second family, and it kills me that i now cant afford to even go to the bouts and watch(too many expensive doctor bills). Good news! My team is gonna kick some ass locally!! So I will be there. Some of the girls on my team i have found an uncommon bond with, i miss that, I miss bringing inspiration to the girls, I miss skating soooo damn much, but It never would have been so momentous without the girls standing beside me. I am fighting this injury every day, and regardless of the obstacles or concern, I WILL find my way back to the track...
